Maria joined the firm in June 2015 as an in-house translator of both Russian and Ukrainian.
Prior to joining Zaiwalla, she worked as a translator at another City law firm which focused primarily in oil and gas, and international sanctions. Maria also completed an internship with an international law firm in Moscow which helped her to develop a thorough understanding of the structure, style and specific language found in bilingual contracts, particularly in banking law.
Maria’s excellent command of Russian and English languages combined with her wide understanding of the Russian and English legal systems and terminology ensures that the precise meaning of the source text being translated is preserved.
Maria also assists the CIS desk on cases and in any other CIS related matters.
