The ‘Zaiwalla Scholarship’ at Somerville College, University of Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development

In homage to the firm’s own roots, we have since 2017 maintained an annual scholarship for one Indian law student to study a one-year postgraduate degree at Somerville College, University of Oxford, through the Oxford India Centre for Sustainable Development. The objective of the scholarship is to provide students with an opportunity to forge international connections, advance their legal careers, and contribute meaningfully to a global legal framework.

To date, the scholarship has supported eight students. The 24/25 scholar, Nikhil Kothakota, is pursuing an MPhil in Law, with research focused on administrative and environmental law within the context of land acquisition and development-induced displacement in India. Read more about Nikhil here.

The ‘Solicitors of the Future’ Intern Scheme

Our team has developed an intern scheme to offer quality experience in a City law firm to law students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The English Law Society will be participating in the selection process which will commence in January 2023.
