Partner Leigh Crestohl has featured in The Times today sharing his comments on the landmark judgment confirming Nigeria's success in challenging a substantial US$ 11 billion arbitration award. The London Commercial Court handed down the judgment setting aside the US$ 11 billion arbitration award made by Process & Industrial Developments Limited (PI&D) against Nigeria for alleging breaching a gas processing contract. Leigh says:
"The ruling has underlined the role of London as the leading venue for the fair and impartial resolution of major international disputes. The decision also illustrates that the English Court will not hesitate to investigate allegations that the conduct of a London arbitration was tainted by fraud, and to put matters right where that is proved."
